CHICAGO, Ill., USA: Hu-Friedy recently hosted the Chicago Dental Society Foundation’s “Wine & Roses” fundraising reception at its new dental product showroom in Des Plaines, Ill. Attendees enjoyed wine and participated in a raffle and silent auction with items donated from manufacturers, distributors, local businesses and restaurants. The event raised more than $20,000 for the CDS Foundation.
Proceeds from the event will be used for the CDS Foundation’s free dental clinic in Wheaton, Ill., and other grants for access to dental care in the Chicago area. Every dollar raised provides access to dental care and oral health literacy to the underserved in the CDS’s tri-county community. More than 85 CDS members and other Chicago dentists and volunteers attended the event.
“We value our close working relationship with Hu-Friedy and appreciate the company donating the use of its state-of-the-art showroom for one of our major fundraising events to benefit the underserved Chicago area with dental care,” said Dr. Mary Hayes, chair of the Chicago Dental Society Foundation.
Hu-Friedy created the showroom and training space to provide hands-on learning opportunities, educational seminars and key events for dental professionals, clinical educators and industry associations. Featuring more than 6,000 square feet of meeting space and conveniently located minutes from O’Hare airport, the showroom is a resource for both local and global dental practitioners.
The Chicago Dental Society Foundation is the philanthropic and charitable component of the Chicago Dental Society. Its mission is to improve the oral health of the public by providing sources of income for dental education and access to care programs. Guided by its commitment to social responsibility, Hu-Friedy partners with dental industry organizations in their missions to positively impact the community and profession.
A global initiative team drives efforts to identify and support programs, create engagement and maximize Hu-Friedy’s social responsibility impact.
