CHICAGO, US: The Chicago Dental Society (CDS) Midwinter Meeting is a premier dental event renowned for attracting tens of thousands of dental professionals globally every year. Today, the conference opened its doors at McCormick Place West in Chicago. Until Saturday, the event will offer an extensive programme, including numerous continuing education accredited courses and interactive hands-on workshops presented by leading educators in the field.
Some highlighted sessions include those on ceramic veneers, which will address the epidemic of cracked teeth, and on strategies for owning and managing a dental practice effectively. These sessions are designed to provide both practical skills and insights into the latest trends and challenges in dental care. For those interested in obtaining continuing education credits, the meeting offers a range of options, including short lectures, longer sessions and workshops, for which the credits vary accordingly.
In an interview with Dental Tribune International last year, Dr David Lewis Jr, then president-elect and now president of the Chicago Dental Society, spoke about the exciting opportunities the event will offer: “As a respected leader in dental continuing education, CDS is committed to providing the highest level of continuing education at the three-day meeting to help attendees create their future in dentistry and dental care. We have more than 230 lectures and workshops as well as 143 speakers, 40 of whom are presenting for the first time. We are always seeking and discovering speakers who can share practical tips with attendees that they can then take back to their practice the very next day. We have strived to offer something for everyone on each day of the event so that every day offers a balanced course content.”
The event also features a vast exhibition hall, hosting over 400 exhibitors across 18,580 m2. Attendees have the opportunity to explore the latest dental products, technologies and innovations. The meeting is an ideal avenue for discovering new tools and solutions that could enhance practices.
Special networking events and opportunities for engagement are also a part of the Midwinter Meeting’s offerings. These include a keynote session with TV personality Geoffrey Baer, a happy hour event, yoga sessions for mindfulness, a president’s dinner dance, and dedicated receptions for new dentists and dental students. These gatherings provide valuable opportunities for dental professionals to connect with their peers, share experiences and expand their professional networks.
