ANAHEIM, Calif., USA: Whether it’s new and improved or timelessly proven, odds are that it’s here in the exhibit hall at the 2016 version of CDA Presents the Art and Science of Dentistry. As one of the largest annual gatherings of dental-product exhibitors in North America, the CDA Presents exhibit hall is a favorite vehicle for launching new products and showcasing advancements and improvements with established favorites.
Every aisle is filled with compelling solutions to virtually any dental-practice challenge.
Among the many innovators this year is Simplifeye, which uses the Apple Watch to create fully connected dental offices. Imagine every member of the team wearing one. The watch notifies wearers of an appointment time with a silent tap on the wrist; then, appointment details can be viewed with a glance (name, room, procedure, medical alerts, etc.). That’s just a hint at the system’s capabilities. You can learn more in the Henry Schein Practice Management booth, where Simplifye is close to the Dentrix area, because Dentrix is the preferred practice-management platform with which Simplifye fully integrates. Simplifye has earned the “Dentrix Connected” badge of approval, which assures users of complete and seamless integration with the Dentrix platform.
In the NuSmile booth, you can find the company’s new NeoMTA, which it describes as “the MTA pediatric dentists have been waiting for.” That’s because it’s able to provide cost-effective peace of mind that formocresol may not provide. NuSmile is known as an international leader in pediatric esthetic restorative dentistry.
HotShotz Reusable Heat Packs is in the exhibit hall again this year, after selling out its entire inventory multiple times last year. Fortunately, the company is based in California, with production based right here in the Los Angeles area, so it just kept restocking. Interestingly, its cold packs are what initially brought the company to dental conferences because of the proven benefits for TMJ patients. But the heat packs help, too; and apparently dental professionals can’t resist their appeal either. A wide selection of sizes can be found. You can even bulk order them imprinted with your practice’s branding and contact information. With a push of a button, Hotshotz heat packs instantly heat to 130 degrees, and they can be used over and over again.
Yet another innovative product is available for hands-on inspection: The RootBuddy handpiece is the only endodontic obuturation device that can heat, vibrate or even do both simultaneously. The proven result is a denser, more compact filling of the root canal space.
