LEIPZIG, Germany: With the establishment of digital photography in dental laboratories and practices, the work of interdisciplinary teams has been improved a great deal. However, the correct use of a modern digital camera in the daily dental routine is still a technical challenge for many. In a webinar presented by the Dental Tribune Study Club on May 26, an expert will discuss simple, as well as innovative, approaches to better documenting a patient’s teeth and smile.

In the 1-hour webinar, course speaker Sascha Hein will introduce the basic functionality of a DSLR camera, as well as the most common problems and how to solve them. Moreover, he will elaborate on lighting techniques for intra-oral photography and offer insights into workflow management for archiving and post-production on computer.

The webinar is directed at both beginners who plan to purchase a DSLR camera and dental professionals who already work with digital photography, and offers advice on the correct application.

Hein is a master dental technician and the author of numerous publications. In addition, he lectures internationally and is speaking in Berlin at the upcoming Bio-Emulation Colloquium 360° on 4 and 5 July, a certificate programme for dentists and dental technicians that aims to set new standards in aesthetic and restorative dentistry.

The webinar, titled “Modern Dental Photography”, is free of charge and will be broadcast online on Tuesday, 26 May at 3 p.m. CEST. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed.

Registration for the webinar is now open on the DT Study Club website, www.dtstudyclub.com.
