As the COVID-19 landscape continues to evolve, nonprofit organizations, especially those that facilitate access to health care, need support more than ever as they explore ways to deliver essential services to individuals safely ― and typically at an increased financial cost.

The dentist-led board of the CDA Foundation is pursuing new ways to deliver and support oral health care for Californians for the remainder of 2021 and heading into 2022. Easy ways to support Foundation programs are available that help to ensure access to care. Here are three of them.

  1. Stop by booth No. 716 at CDA Presents. At the meeting in San Francisco, you can visit CDA Foundation staff at the CDA Member Benefits Center (booth No. 716). Learn more about the impact of foundation programs and ways you can support the foundation through donations or volunteer opportunities. Individuals who donate on-site at the convention will walk away with a T-shirt as a “thank you” from the foundation.
  2. Make a one-time or ongoing donation online. It’s easy to make an individual donation online. Donors can choose to contribute one time only or monthly ― for the year or on an ongoing basis. You can donate for as little as $5 and have the option to contribute anonymously or in someone’s honor or memory. To donate, visit https://ebusiness.cda.org/ebusiness/fundraising.
  3. Give to the foundation cash-free by shopping at Amazon. When you shop online through AmazonSmile (https://smile.amazon.com/), Amazon will automatically donate 0.5 percent of the price of your eligible purchases to your favorite charitable organization. To participate, just choose the CDA Foundation, fill your list and let the donations add up at no extra cost.

As the philanthropic arm of the California Dental Association, the CDA Foundation reduces barriers to oral health care in underserved communities through its two flagship programs, CDA Cares and the Student Loan Repayment Grant, plus other annual grants and awards for dentists, educators and organizations who are committed to CDA’s mission: To improve the oral health of all Californians by supporting the dental profession in its efforts to meet community needs.
