ANAHEIM, CA, USA: In an interview with Dental Tribune conducted at the recent California Dental Association meeting (15 to 17 May), GC America Marketing Director Dr Robert Lee discusses his company’s new composite, called Kalore.

What’s new with GC America these days?

Dr Lee: We have a brand new product, a whole new generation of composite called Kalore. It is the result of a collaboration between GC America and DuPont, and everyone knows this great chemistry company. It’s a new generation utilizing DuPont’s monomer technology, and the end result is Kalore, which we are launching here at CDA.

What is unique about Kalore?

Dr Lee: Kalore offers a total package with three specific benefits. The first benefit is superior handling because it’s non-sticky and easier to spread. The second benefit is unsurpassed esthetics that come from exceptional gloss, easy polishability and sustained luster. The third benefit is significant longevity and durability.

Joining us at the moment are two familiar faces that are a part of your Kalore launch and special offerings available at your booth. Would you introduce yourselves?

Aureana Tseu: Hello, my name is Aureana Tseu, and I am Miss Hawaii 2009.

Samantha Farrow: I’m Samantha Farrow, and I’m an actress out of Toronto.

Dr Lee: Samantha did the teaser movie we released before we launched the product. She also appears in our advertising and informational pamphlets for Kalore, so she’s part of our marketing campaign.

Ms. Tseu, what is your connection with Kalore and GC America?

Tseu: My dentist is Dr Wynn Okuda, who is a past president of the AACD, and is based in Honolulu. Dr Okuda collaborates with GC America, and he heard of Kalore and wanted to try it out with me. I had major bling in my mouth; it was like a disco ball in the back. So Dr Okuda put Kalore in right before I went to the Miss USA event.

Dr Lee: She was actually Miss California’s roommate.

What’s going on at the GC booth during the day?

Dr Lee: We have presentations, which are talking about using Kalore, MI Paste, glass ionomers and EXA’lence, every half an hour for the duration of CDA. After each presentation we give away prizes, and for those who sit in the Kalore presentation, they automatically receive a Kalore t-shirt. There’s also a lucky draw for anyone who comes to the booth, no purchase necessary, to win a designer Strida Bike, which retails for $1,000. This bike actually folds up and comes from the UK. That drawing will be held tomorrow. Also, anyone can have a picture taken with Miss Hawaii or Samantha.

Are there any specials during CDA?

Dr Lee: Indeed there are. We have a special introductory offer, but those who are interested will have to come over to the booth, No. 1434, to find out all the details.
