Seattle, WA and New York, NY, USA: Federal mandate requires that all medical records become digital by 2015, and in response to this EBM has introduced an Internet Explorer-based, DICOM-compliant PACS solution for dental professionals.

According to a press release from EBM, Pangea Dental is a feature-rich DICOM-compliant PACS that is browser-based and allows teleradiology between buildings, cities, states and countries if need be. “It is the most advanced comprehensive system on the market today and the most reasonably priced option for digital X-ray storage and retrieval,” the company said.

The Pangea Dental software, which is FDA approved, is capable of presenting standard dental X-ray studies including bitewings, PAs, and panoramic surveys as well as CBCT and head/jaw CT, and MRI studies needed in oral surgery, oral medicine, periodontics, endodontics and orthodontics.

Pangea Dental offers all of the standard features of its other popular EBM medical software products including their processing and analysis tools as well as scalability, redundancy, synchronization and reliability. Pangea Dental can interface with clinical/patient dental management software (EDR – electronic dental records) and has no limits to DICOM based modality connections.

This PACS solution allows the end user to view any DICOM image and also input from non-DICOM based modalities via coupling with EBM’s Uni-Gate software. The Pangea Dental solution is designed for use in dental schools, hospital and public health settings, dental radiology clinics, and medium to large dental clinics.
