BOSTON, Mass., USA: It’s been two years since the annual Yankee Dental Congress was able to meet in person, and although the world has changed in many ways since then, one thing hasn’t — the desire of event organizers to put on an educational and entertaining conference showcasing the best the dental industry has to offer.

This year’s meeting, themed “Explore, Educate, Engage,” promises to be even more expansive and offer more opportunities than before. The event is being held Jan. 27 to 29 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

One new offering is the “Healthy You, Healthy Practice” track. Caring for yourself is more important than ever so that you can continue to care for others in your practice, and thus the courses in this track will help you to carve a path to thrive in the current environment.

Some of the highlights include “Pandemic Aftershocks: Managing the Personal and Professional Impacts” (8 a.m. Friday), “Transforming COVID Challenges into Learning Opportunities” (8 a.m. Saturday) and “De-Stressing the Dental Profession: Happiness at Work and Home” (1 p.m. Saturday).

Other tracks being held throughout the meeting include hygiene, new dentists and leadership, while the list of speakers includes many prominent members of the industry, such as Alan Atlas, DMD; David Clark, DDS; Karen Davis, RDH; Mic Falkel, DDS; David Galler, DMD; Carol Jahn, RDH; Joel Laudenbach, DMD; Steven LoCascio, DDS; Maureen Perry, DDS; Angie Stone, RDH; Thomas Viola, RPh; and Juan Yepes, DDS.

In addition, you can also find a variety of educational courses, many for C.E. credit, on the exhibit hall floor. Benco Dental, Crest + Oral-B, Henry Schein Dental and Wells Fargo are all hosting their own pavilions, with thought leaders and product demonstrations, while the Next Generation Forum is a series of lectures and demos for dental professionals and industry leaders looking to learn more about the most innovative and promising technology solutions in the dental arena.

Exhibit hall happenings

If you’re looking for a close-up view of the best products and technology in the industry, look no further than the multitudes of companies populating the exhibit hall. Many exhibitors are offering hands-on demonstrations and a variety of show specials.

In addition, there several special events taking place in the exhibit hall throughout the course of the meeting.

From 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, come celebrate the return of the in-person Yankee Dental Congress with the Back to Boston celebration. While there, be sure to spend $500 with any one exhibitor and receive a $50 Amex gift card in return.

On Friday, enjoy a drink, touch base with exhibitors and meet potential suppliers during the Mid-Show Mixer from 4 to 5:30 p.m. You will also be able to enjoy a performance from Vivian Luo, a classically trained electric violinist. She has been a noteworthy Boston street performer since 2017, giving pop-up performances of pop, EDM and hip-hop mixes and mashups.

Finally, for ADA members who purchase goods or services totaling $2,500 from exhibitors, a coupon found in your registration packet can be redeemed for free registration for Yankee Dental Congress 2023.
