BIBERACH AN DER RISS, Germany: As the use of CBCT imaging in dentistry has become more commonplace, its sophistication as a diagnostic tool likewise has increased. In an upcoming webinar on Wednesday, 19 April, an expert will explain how analysis of CBCT imaging can reveal additional findings and the importance of diagnosing these.

Incidental findings are frequent in the dental practice, yet they are often overlooked in favour of focusing on the problem at hand. This issue is somewhat prevalent in analysis of CBCT imaging, as dental professionals may only consider the primary indication when examining these images. In this webinar, Dr Jörg Mudrak will present a range of findings from CBCT images, which will then be inspected, analysed and diagnosed by participants.

Mudrak studied dentistry from 1988 to 1993 at universities in the German cities of Berlin, Würzburg and Gießen. Subsequently, he completed a three-year training and education programme for oral surgeons before establishing a private practice in Ludwigsau in Germany in 1997. Mudrak continues to work as a dental surgeon with a focus on implantology at the practice and has presented at international conferences on oral surgery and 3-D imaging technology.

The 1-hour webinar, titled “Interactive diagnostics on the basis of CBCT images”, will be broadcast live on Wednesday, 19 April, from 3 p.m. CEST. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed.
