ImageWorks Corp. and Sleep Group Solutions (SGS) recently announced an agreement whereby SGS will distribute and promote the NewTom VGi Flex mobile units for sleep disorders in the United States and Canada. SGS is a provider of airway diagnostic technology that serves the needs of physicians and dentists interested in screening, diagnosing and treating sleep apnea and other upper airway disorders.

The NewTom VGi, the imaging professionals’ choice of cone beam CT, has medical grade components, patented Safe Beam technology to customize the dose based on the patient size, and unsurpassed image quality. The NewTom VGi Flex is the only 3D Cone Beam CT system that carries a warranty for installation in mobile environments.

Treatment of dental sleep disorders is becoming one of the most added procedures to the dental office. Having a patient treated for dental sleep disorder and providing a NewTom VGi 3D Cone Beam CT scan, the patient can expect a more accurate airway assessment and a quicker and more effective treatment plan.

SGS offers the most comprehensive dental sleep medicine CE seminars in the industry, focusing on teaching dentists the protocols needed to make the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea part of their practice. ImageWorks hopes to leverage the success SGS has had in the dental sleep medicine market to further expand the NewTom Mobile 3D Cone Beam CT fleet of mobile imaging centers.

ImageWorks and its NewTom VGi Flex have more than 30 mobile cone beam imaging centers operating nationwide.

By joining forces, SGS and ImageWorks will leverage the dental sleep seminars and the widespread availability of mobile units at seminars to further show the need for proper diagnosis using a Cone Beam CT scanner.
