NEW YORK, USA/LEIPZIG, Germany: Snap-On Smile is now part of Den-Mat Holding, LLC. In a press note released earlier this week, the company announced that its LUMINEERS Smile Design Studios in Santa Maria, USA, has acquired all intellectual property and production rights of the brand. Snap-On Smile, a crystallised acetyl resin-based removable appliance, was developed by New York City dentist Dr Marc Liechtung in 1996. It can be used as an aesthetic provisional in implant cases or cosmetic removable partial denture

The acquisition is one of three major business transactions Den-Mat has finalised in the last eight months. Last year, the company signed a number of distribution agreements with Remedent, a manufacturer of aesthetic and restorative solutions based in Belgium. The acquisition of Snap-On Smile is supposed to add new versatility to DenMat’s already existing aesthetic treatment options.

“It’s a practical and effective solution for solving a wide variety of short- and long-term clinical challenges, as it serves as both a non-invasive restorative option as well as a diagnostic appliance,” said Eric Relyea, Den-Mat’s Vice President, Marketing.

Dr Marc Liechtung, Chairman and inventor of Snap-On Smile, remarked: “I’m pleased to have a product that I invented associated with a quality organisation like DenMat. We share a dedication to minimally invasive dentistry and I believe that Snap-On Smile will now reach many more patients and become the product that I envisioned it to be.”

Den-Mat’s current flagship product is Lumineers by Cerinate, a contact lens-thin porcelain veneer that provides a pain-free alternative to traditional veneers.
