2024 ADSO Summit kicks off in Denver

The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) presented the 2024 ADSO Summit: Dentistry’s Main Event, which kicked off June 12 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Denver.

The Summit brought together thousands of dental industry leaders from across the country for thought-leadership exchange, networking and a showcasing of the most innovative technologies that dentistry has to offer. This three-day event allowed attendees to explore timely and critical industry issues such as artificial intelligence, workforce shortages and more.

Henry Schein, a leading solutions provider for dental professionals, joined forces with ADSO yet again as this year’s Title Sponsor.

Attendees at the 2024 ADSO Summit enjoyed a range of speakers and presentations from the dental industry and beyond, including keynote presentations from:

  • Terrell Davis, NFL hall of famer and Denver Broncos legend
  • Steve Bilt, chief executive officer of Smile Brands
  • Bob Fontana, founder and chief executive officer of Aspen Dental
  • Stephen Thorne, founder and chief executive officer of PDS Health
  • Dr. Rick Workman, founder and executive chairman of Heartland Dental
  • Dr. Sulman Ahmed, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of DECA Dental Group
  • Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, Henry Schein

On June 13 at the Summit, ADSO conducted a special awards ceremony where winners of the ADSO Awards were honored and select members were inducted into the Hall of Leaders.

The event also featured opportunities for attendees to network and enjoy the amenities offered by the resort and surrounding areas, including the Among the Clouds Mile High Soiree sponsored by Align and the Après Ski Wonderland sponsored by Sunbit. Additionally, attendees could experience the forefront of dental innovation and solve their practice’s pain points at the Innovation Playground Powered by Dental Innovation Alliance (DIA).

On June 14, the final full day of the Summit, industry-wide workforce challenges and emerging AI technologies took top billing as attendees learned best practices on managing employee dynamics and heard from experts on how AI will shape the future of dentistry.

The day’s “Generational Jeopardy” keynote by entrepreneur and author Ryan Vet took attendees on a deep dive into the intricate dance of generational dynamics within the workplace, offering advice on leveraging adaptability and innovation to turn generational diversity into a strategic advantage.

Attendees also heard from industry leaders on emerging AI technologies — including AI-supported diagnostics to enhance treatment planning; using AI to streamline administrative tasks and free up valuable time for patient care; and incorporating AI into marketing strategies to improve the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
