Dr. Ed Zuckerberg will present the closing keynote address at AAID’s 2016 Annual Educational Conference, to be held in New Orleans, beginning Oct. 26. His presentation, titled “Social Media Marketing for Dentists — What You Need to Know Now!” will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. until noon.

No stranger to the impact of social media, Zuckerberg was in private practice in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., from 1981 through 2013. He began placing dental implants in the late 1980s. He now practices part-time in Pala Alto, Calif., while also lecturing nationally and internationally on technology integration, social media, marketing and online reputation management. He authored a chapter on social media for the American Dental Association’s recently released “Practical Guide to Internet Marketing” textbook.

Zuckerberg’s presentation will highlight the importance of having an active social media presence and discuss the various platforms, with emphasis on Facebook. Techniques to increase followers and promote engagement will be highlighted. The process for creating a social-media marketing budget will also be reviewed, along with a discussion of techniques for efficient use of advertising dollars.

After attending the presentation, attendees will be able to identify the major differences between several available social media platforms. They will also be able to increase “likes” on their dental office Facebook page. Attendees will leave the program knowing best practices for engaging their audience cost effectively and within the budget that they can now prepare.
