SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, USA: Ultradent recently kicked off its annual food drive with a theme of “Hunger Games.” The kick-off event, held Nov. 5, consisted of team challenges led by Ultradent’s upper management toward their goal of 100,000 pounds of food. The two-week-long food drive resulted in an astounding collection of over 200,000 pounds of food.

Ultradent Products is a dental products manufacturer in South Jordan, Utah. Employees have raised money and collected canned goods for the Utah Food Bank for the past 10 years with a participation consisting of 700 to 900 employees each year.

“Last year employees generously donated 83,010 pounds of food, so it seemed like a reasonable challenge to set this year’s goal at 100,000 pounds,” said Dr. Dan Fischer, president and CEO of Ultradent. “I could hardly contain my excitement and pride when I heard the collection amount totaled 208,169 pounds! I feel privileged to work with such amazing and generous individuals.”

Ultradent donated $25,000 cash (101,287 pounds) to the Utah Food Bank in a check presentation on Nov. 27, 2012. The balance of $26,784.45 cash was donated to AmeriCares for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
