Every year, many companies launch new products and initiatives during the Midwinter Meeting in Chicago, IL, USA. This year, digital dentistry company Sirona Dental Systems, based in Long Island City, NY, USA, a producer of dental CAD/CAM systems, celebrated the commencement of its new CEREC AC (Acquisition Center) powered by Bluecam with an official “Blue” launch party at Chicago’s famous House of Blues.

“The House of Blues was the perfect setting for our official launch party of the CEREC AC,” said Roddy MacLeod, senior director CAD/CAM Systems for Sirona Dental Systems, in a news release following the celebration. “The party was a great networking event for our colleagues, clients, associates and other professionals who hold the same interests. It has become tradition for Sirona to end the Midwinter Meeting by hosting a celebration for all who support our profession.”

With a jam-packed crowd of more than 2,000 attendees, Sirona hosted the gala complete with dancing, food, drinks, an exclusive VIP area and live music of the 1970s and ’80s, courtesy of the band Boogie Knights. The party was tailored around Sirona’s incorporation of the Bluecam handheld acquisition camera that supports the new CEREC AC. Sirona’s Bluecam uses a highly visible blue light LED that captures superior digital impressions accurately, easily and fast. CEREC AC powered by Bluecam is considered a significant technological advancement in chairside CAD/CAM systems.

The House of Blues name took on new significance with unique forms of “blue support” showcased throughout the venue. Dressed in vibrant shades of blue from their hair down to their blue-suede shoes, guests were adorned with blue pant suits, dresses, shiny blue wigs and painted blue faces.
