FREMONT, Calif., US: For many orthodontists, obtaining optimal tooth alignment and managing final detailing are persistent challenges in aligner therapy. These critical movements, conventionally resolved using finishing wires in fixed appliance therapy, are the focus of the new PrecisionFinish feature recently introduced to OrthoFX’s AirFlex aligner system.
The PrecisionFinish feature is designed to deliver greater precision during the final stages of aligner therapy, supporting precise and predictable tooth alignment for improved aesthetics before patients transition to the retention phase. Unlike standard aligners that apply high force initially and quickly become passive, PrecisionFinish aligners deliver sustained active force throughout the final treatment stages. This active control helps reduce the need for refinements and overcorrections. Ultimately, the system aims to provide dentists with confidence in their therapy and with the predictable tooth movement and treatment outcomes they desire.

From 28 October, PrecisionFinish aligners will be integrated into the last four stages of all AirFlex comprehensive cases, and new refinements submitted thereafter will automatically receive PrecisionFinish aligners at no additional cost.
