HOUSTON, Texas, USA: Forward Science Technologies LLC (FST) has announced that OralID will be available in Europe for sale this fall. The company acquired the CE (Conformite Europeene) Mark in summer 2014 for its award-winning cancer screening device. FST is currently in negotiations with several international distributors to “Shine Light. Save Lives.” across the globe.

With oral cancer continuing to rise, OralID is positioned to enhance early discovery worldwide, the company says. Dr. Brian Pikkula, FST president and chief technology officer, explains how OralID was designed not only for use in the United States, but worldwide, to aid in the battle against oral cancer: “We stressed the importance of portability, ease of use and cost effectiveness during the development of OralID. With its sector leading price and lack of consumables, OralID is positioned to be used worldwide in efforts for early discovery.”

FST has first partnered with Maxdent, a company founded to support early detection of oral cancer, based in the Netherlands. In September, Maxdent began offering the OralID in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Lithuania and Latvia.

Marco van der Linden, director of Maxdent, became familiar with OralID at the 2013 American Dental Association meeting in New Orleans. He stated: “At that time I was looking for new and innovative products related to early detection of oral cancer. Finding the OralID as the latest technology in oral mucosal screening was exactly what we needed.”

The first major exhibition where Maxdent will demonstrate the OralID is Oct. 18-20 at Dentex in Brussels, Belgium.
