BERLIN, Germany, and FREEPORT, N.Y., USA: The American dental manufacturer Temrex and the German Hoffmann Dental Manufaktur recently announced a partnership. Although the cooperation is a new way for both companies, together they look back on more than 200 years of experience.

Both companies are driven by the same values. Temrex, like Hoffmann Dental, is family-owned in the third generation, and for both manufacturers it’s crucial to keep the balance between traditional skills, new techniques and today’s requirements.

Together, both manufacturers will continue to work on a renaissance of the classic dental cements and long forgotten remedies like copper.

Founded in 1924 by Dr. Frank Levander and led throughout its second generation by Hubert Levander, Temrex has maintained a tradition of creating materials for better dentistry. This family company now is directed by a third generation Levander, Ethan Levander. In 2012 Temrex relocated to a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Freeport, N.Y.

Hoffmann Dental Manufaktur is a family-owned boutique manufacturer and pioneer of the German dental industry. The first reliable dental cement was been invented more than 120 years ago by company founder Dr. Otto Hoffmann in 1892: Zinc phosphate cement. Now, Hoffmann’s cement is used 40,000 times a day in over 50 countries. All products are manufactured by skilled personnel according to proven formulations at the plant in Berlin. Hoffmann’s cements have been recently re-registered with FDA.
