NEW YORK, NY, USA: Henry Schein Inc. has partnered with the industry’s leading manufacturers in the development of The NEXT DDS, a landmark program for dental students and residents. Starting in 2010, the parties will unveil a state-of-the-art Web portal (www.thenextdds.com) and companion print publication for dental students searching for a credible adjunct to their classroom learning experiences.
“We’ve taken a leadership role in embracing The NEXT DDS in response to dental students’ increasing appetite for connectivity and new communications technologies,” said Steve Kess, vice president of professional relations for Henry Schein.
The NEXT DDS will foster dialogue among users and connect the academic and social communities. Enrolled users will access evidence-based educational resources (e.g., videos, Webcasts, blogs) that complement classroom instruction, thus enabling discussion of expanding topics that include clinical techniques and innovative technologies as well as financial, licensure and practice management, to name only a few.
Founding partner companies within this initiative are the Colgate-Palmolive Company, Coltene/Whaledent, D4D Technologies, DEXIS, Gendex, Henry Schein Financial Services, Henry Schein Practice Solutions, Hu-Friedy Mfg. Co., Imaging Sciences International, KaVo Dental, Officite, Pelton & Crane, Premier Dental and Shofu Dental.
With that support, The NEXT DDS is poised to become a flagship program for the dental student and resident.
