JDIQ holds its 40th meeting

If you wanted to rub shoulders with the best and brightest in dentistry, Montreal was the place to be. The meeting was held May 27 to 31.

“This year we look back on 40 years with a sense of pride and accomplishment for having provided excellent continuing education opportunities for the entire dental community,” said Dr Sam Sgro, president of the JDIQ Planning Committee. “Our profession has come a long way in the last four decades, and the JDIQ has been there evolving along with it and providing a forum for the exchange of new information and ideas.”

On the exhibit hall floor, meeting attendees had plenty of innovative new products and hot new technology to check out.

Some of the offerings on display — to name just a few — included the popular BeautiBond seventh-generation bonding agent from Shofu; new System B Cordless obturation devices from SybronEndo; digital panoramic, cephalometric and CB3D imaging systems from Instrumentarium; patient education tools available from Consult-PRO; and VITA Easyshade Compact shade matching technology designed to reduce the need for remakes, available from Vident.

For those seeking to expand their horizons in terms of the care they offer patients, the meeting offered much. There were educational opportunities to fit the needs of dentists, hygienists and members of office staffs, general practitioners and specialists, seasoned veterans and those fresh out of dental school. Presentations were offered in both English and French.

Lectures and workshops were offered by some of the most prominent experts in their fields.

Classes began on Friday, May 27 and continued through Tuesday, May 31.
