SAN DIEGO, Calif., USA: Are you looking for ways to decrease chair time and emergencies with Class II corrections? If so, you might be interested in an offering from Henry Schein Orthodontics — the Carriere Motion Appliance. Dr. Luis Carriere, inventor of the Carriere Motion Appliance and the Carriere Self-Ligating Bracket, was on hand during this year’s AAO 2017 Annual Session, offering in-booth lectures.
Attendees could also visit Henry Schein’s “Genius Corner” and reserve a kick-start session, a 15-minute session that includes instruction, a hands-on demonstration and practical, how-to tips to get started.
“To limit extractions, which are not always respectful of the face, and to reclassify Class II patients into Class I patients,” said Dr. Carriere, “this is what the Motion Appliance can do. It is a beautiful alternative.”
The Carriere Motion provides greater comfort and can shorten treatment time for up to four months, he said. The appliance delivers a natural, gentle and uniform force for distal molar movement with controlled rotation and tipping correction before brackets or other appliances are placed. This solves complex problems almost effortlessly, according to Carriere, at a time when the patient is the most motivated and compliant.
Now, patients can even personalize their orthodontic treatment with Carriere Motion 3D COLORS. It’s the same appliance, but patients can choose from blue, purple, green, gold, silver or multi – an iridescent fixture that changes color based on lighting.
“For those patients who are young or want something trendy, we came up with ‘COLORS,’” Carriere said. “They’re fancy! The multi-color one is beautiful because, according to how the light is impacting the Motion, the color changes: You see purples, you see greens, you see blues — you see all of the span of colors seen in nature.”
At his sessions at the Henry Schein Ortho booth, Carriere spoke on how the Motion 3D COLORS Appliances turn Class II cases into simple Class I patients by treating the sagittal dimension at the beginning of treatment. This new treatment paradigm eliminates competing force vectors and patient compliance issues inherent in traditional Class II correction, Carriere asserts.
To learn more, attend one of his sessions or visit the booth and ask to check out the Carriere Motion 3D Colors Appliance in person.
