DENVER, Colo., USA: Henry Schein Dental unveiled a number of new initiatives and awards during the American Dental Association’s annual meeting, held recently. Visitors to the company’s exhibit booths were able to learn more about Henry Schein ConnectDental digital solutions, merchandise and exclusives, Henry Schein Practice Solutions, the Integrated Design Studio — Henry Schein’s rebranded Office Design Team, Glove Club and ProRepair.

During the show, Henry Schein launched #ScheinChats, a social media thought-leadership series featuring interviews with customers, supplier partners and industry leaders, among others. The inaugural broadcast took place at the main Henry Schein Dental booth on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 20, and featured Jim Breslawski, president of Henry Schein Inc., and CEO of the company’s Global Dental Group, sitting down with the ADA’s chief economist and vice president, Marko Vujicic, PhD.

The two discussed the future of dentistry and trends affecting the profession. Those who were unable to attend in person were able to follow along via Henry Schein Dental’s Facebook page.

Other notable events at the ADA included Don Hobbs, vice president of equipment, Henry Schein, being sworn in as the CEO of The Center for Research and Education in Technology (CRET), as well as Steve Kess, vice president, global professional relations and co-founder of Henry Schein Cares, the company’s global social responsibility program, being inducted as a fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD).

Throughout the show, Henry Schein showcased digital technology solutions — including scanners, milling units, 3-D printers, abutment solutions and the latest materials available from the company’s digital platform, Henry Schein ConnectDental, to help practitioners navigate the rapidly changing world of digital dentistry.

“We look forward to meeting with practitioners to discuss the Henry Schein ConnectDental promise of providing trusted advice, an open architecture of digital solutions, practice management interoperability, dental laboratory connectivity and education, integration and support,” said Tim Sullivan, president, North American Dental Group, Henry Schein, in a press release issued before the meeting.

“In addition to having a variety of technology and equipment onsite for practitioners to demonstrate, our team is ready and eager to discuss how all of these solutions integrate into every step of the clinical workflow,” Sullivan said. “Our goal is to help deliver predictable, quality dentistry and improve efficiency and productivity for the ultimate benefit of the patient.”
