More and more smart dentists seek expert guidance when selling or buying dental practices, assessing partnership and associateship opportunities, and to get dental practice appraisals and valuations done regularly. Today, understanding the importance of establishing a practice transition and personal financial plan has become critical to the long term success of a dental practice. In an upcoming free Dental Tribune Study Club live webinar, Dr. Tom Snyder will present strategies optimizing practice value through practice transition planning and conducting a dental practice valuation.
Buying or selling a dental practice is one of the most important events dentists will face in their career. The process of finding the right practice and using the right advisor in the process requires care and due diligence. At the other end of the transaction, the practice sale and transition requires just as much guidance and expertise, if not more, thanks to the increase in practice values in many areas of the country. Maximizing your practice value in today’s competitive market place is best achieved by retaining a dental transition professional who has the experience, and knowledge to get you the highest value in your area. They also have the expertise to qualify the right buyer and ensure that the deal closes in a timely manner
In his webinar, Dr. Snyder will provide attendees with the top five factors that affect the value of a dental practice and lead to a successful transition. He will also discuss the role of a practice valuation in the transition process and why they differ across the country. He will explain the basic methods for valuing a dental practice and why 'free' practice appraisals are not really free. Dental professionals will learn more about the benefits of a long-term plan which helps them become prepared five to ten years ahead of the practice transition.
Dr. Snyder received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He has extensive experience in transition consulting, practice valuation and partnership formation, having consulted with more than 1,000 dentists in his over 30-year career. A former Department Chair at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Dr. Snyder is a member of the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He also serves on the editorial boards of several national publications.
The free webinar, titled “Transition Planning and Valuations”, will be broadcast live on May 17th at 8 p.m. (EST). Dental professionals interested in attending the course may register online here. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed. The webinar is sponsored by Henry Schein Professional Practice Transitions Inc., a national leader in dental practice transitions, and a subsidiary of Henry Schein, Inc.
