Dental News - Dental office managers rock Orlando at 9th annual conference

ORLANDO, Fla., USA: Members and guests of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) gathered in mid-September in Orlando for the association’s ninth annual meeting — and judging from the hundreds of conference pictures posted online, the education sessions, exhibits and networking events were enthusiastically received. Attendees included dental office managers, practice administrators and various other professionals connected to the business side of a dental practice.

The meeting’s guiding theme was “efficient and successful management of the dental office.” And this year’s sessions covered topics such as risk management, team communications, leadership, insurance coding, financial indicators and human resources issues.

Cindy Sooter, office manager at Joplin Family Dental in Joplin, Mo., who was named 2013 AADOM office manager of the year, said, “Each year after the conference I wonder how it could have possibly been any better — and each year somehow the speakers, vendors and entertainment give us more. The networking alone is worth the trip. Any dental business team members who have never had the opportunity to attend should go one time; then they will be hooked.”

The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando hosted the two-day conference, which has consistently sold out in recent years, as the association’s popularity continues to grow.
