ADHA holds 95th Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio, USA: The American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s 95th Annual Conference is jam-packed with activity. With more than 1,500 dental hygienists from across the United States gathered around the Greater Columbus Convention Center to check out the latest in cutting-edge education and the best new products in the industry, there is no better place to be if you are looking to enhance your skills in the hygiene profession.

With two full days of seminars and hands-on workshops on Thursday and Friday, along with the third In-Motion: 5K Run, Walk, Fun to raise funds in support of the mission of the Institute for Oral Health, the exhibit hall opened its doors on Friday, allowing attendees to check out the aisles of new products and technology designed specifically to help those in the hygiene profession.

Sessions include those on engaging patients to improve oral health, tips to being an influencer in your practice, caring for patients with advanced implant-supported prosthesis, learning about oral health and homeopathic tends and even a Ted-style talk on sparking your passion.

The exhibit hall offers access to all the top exhibitors showcasing the most recent advancements in products and services in dental hygiene and oral health care.

At the Ansell/Microflex booth, you can check out the company’s MICRO-TOUCH DENTA-GLOVE series. These examination gloves were developed specifically for the needs of dental professionals, according to Ansell, are certified for use in oral examinations for patient safety and peace of mind and are tested for bio-compatibility and feature inner coatings to promote hand health.

Another can’t miss is Designs for Vision, which is introducing an advanced photonic design that provides uniform light distribution with maximum intensity. The company’s patent-pending headlights optically focus the light from the LED to provide 45 percent more light with uniform distribution. You can choose high-definition imaging with either a wired or wireless design to meet your preference.

There are also mini-presentations at the Career Center, a Headshot Lounge sponsored by Dentsply Sirona and a relaxation station sponsored by Brasseler.

The 2018 General Session Keynote features Michael Jr., who is an actor in the box office hit “War Room” and a comedian who has appeared on such late-night shows as “The Tonight Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Recently, Michael Jr. was awarded a Dove Award by the Gospel Music Association for outstanding comedian of the year.

However, his talents don’t end there. Michael Jr. has also authored a children’s book, “The Parts We Play,” made his directorial debut with “The Road Less Traveled” and has worked on a new documentary/small group video study “The No Show Comedy Show.”
