SACRAMENTO, Calif., USA: The California Dental Association has named Lindsey A. Robinson, DDS, a pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience, as its president for 2013. Robinson, who owns a practice in Grass Valley, described her goals for the organization during CDA’s House of Delegates meeting in Newport Beach recently.
Having served as a volunteer with CDA since 2003, Robinson brings to the leadership role a wealth of knowledge and expertise, acknowledging during her speech to CDA delegates that there are many changes happening in dentistry today.
The implementation of the Affordable Care Act, diminishing government oral health programs and changing national market trends are influencing the way health care may be practiced in the future, said Robinson, who graduated from the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in 1990 and earned her pediatric certificate from the University of Florida in 1995.
“Our students and new dentists are counting on our leadership because the decisions we make today will dictate the profession of tomorrow,” added the new president of the 25,000-member organization.
A strong leader and advocate for the improvement of the state’s oral health, Robinson has also held positions with the CDA Foundation, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
“CDA has been and will continue to be at the forefront of advocacy on behalf of our members and the oral health of Californians on these important issues,” Robinson said, referencing the association’s commitment to improving the knowledge, skills and habits of the state’s population.
Robinson lives with her husband, Parker, in Grass Valley. She has been a CDA member for 23 years.
