NASHVILLE, Tenn., USA: With the doors to the exhibit hall thrown open and the educational sessions continuing at a rapid pace, there was no time to rest Friday during the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) at the 92nd Annual Session as hygienists from all over the country gathered to celebrate their profession and to catch up on what’s new.

Educational sessions on tap for the day included “Strategies for Improved Patient Engagement: Technology, Products, Soft Skills and More” with Linda Meeuwenberg, RHH, which offered strategies for evidence-based decision making for selection of oral care products and ways to present them to patients for improved adherence, and “Oral Health Policy Research: Unlocking the Power of Data, Understanding Access and Advancing Oral Health” with Hannah Maxey, PhD, MPH, RDH, who was there to describe the field of oral health services research and explore its relevance to oral health and dental hygiene practice and policy.

Sessions continue today and cover a wide variety of topics, including a look at ways to navigate stress in dentistry, educating patients about community water fluoridation and dealing with patients with autism or anxiety.
