MIAMI BEACH, Fla., USA: The American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) will host its 97th annual meeting in Miami Beach from November 12 to 15, 2011. Attendees are now able to register for the event. The organization encourages all members of the dental team to register to learn about the latest advancements in periodontology.

The organization’s annual four-day meeting will include a variety of educational and scientific sessions in eight program tracks, covering a wide variety of topics, including dental implants, periodontal-systemic relationships, periodontal plastic and oral reconstructive surgery, regeneration and tissue engineering. Traditional continuing education (CE) courses, as well as hands-on workshops and clinical technique showcases, will be offered at the event. According to the AAP, more than 60 educational and scientific sessions will be presented.

“The 2011 AAP Annual Meeting is sure to be an exciting and informative four days,” said Donald Clem, DDS, president of the AAP. “With beautiful Miami Beach as a backdrop, this year’s program will grant attendees access to some of the most recognized names in the periodontal community. The wide array of continuing education courses along with the first-rate dental products and services being showcased in the exhibit hall provide something of interest for everyone, from dental student to experienced practitioner.

“I invite all members of the dental team to join the AAP in South Florida to learn about the latest and greatest advances in periodontology, network with dental colleagues and enjoy all Miami Beach has to offer.”

The noted events of interest this year include the Innovations in Periodontics sessions, in which new concepts and techniques in periodontics will be showcased, as well as Insurance Workshops, which will instruct attendees on how to submit appropriate procedure codes to dental benefit carriers, communicate with benefit carriers in adjudicating claims and file claims with medical plans. At the exhibit hall, more than 150 dental products and services will be featured and complimentary attendee lunches will be offered.
