SimPlant O&O

Achieve facial harmony and the perfect smile through 3-D interdisciplinary approach with SimPlant O&O (Orthodontics & Orthognatics).

Orthodontists and oral surgeons can now aim for facial harmony and the perfect smile for patients by using the most comprehensive 3-D digital software planning package on the market. Materialise Dental has launched its new software package, SimPlant® O&O, Ortho and OMS, a unique, full 3-D solution for interdisciplinary dentistry.

Assess patients’ anatomy in all three dimensions

“This new 3-D solution has only recently been leveraged due to the increased availability of 3-D cone-beam scanners and intra-oral scanners,” says Hans Meeus, product manager at Materialise Dental. “They can now be found in many practices.”

Today with SimPlant O&O’s 3-D dentofacial planning concept, orthodontists and oral surgeons can work together to simulate realistic treatments. They have complete 3-D information on the tooth, crown and root, bone and soft tissue to make an accurate and complete 3-D diagnosis and planning. Tooth setup and surgery, soft tissue simulation and cephalometrics are just a few of the features that make it happen, and all of it in 3-D.

CAD/CAM wafers help doctors save time and money and improve accuracy

“Planning in 3-D resulting in a CAD/CAM wafer increases accuracy and saves time and money as there is no longer a need for model surgery,” explains Hans. “This wafer is built right out of the 3-D planning without any extra work.”

Interdisciplinary digital planning and communication has numerous benefits

Communication between orthodontists, oral surgeons and patients has never been easier, because all parties can see the results. SimPlant O&O Viewer allows sharing the planning with dental labs, referrals and patients, even if they do not own the software.

Aside from being an ideal communication tool for oral surgeons and orthodontists to exchange valuable patient information and determine the best treatment options, it’s also a powerful visual solution for surgeons to show patients a glimpse into their future.
