DentaLogic 2.0 from D4D Technologies: Improving ‘the difference in dentistry’

D4D Technologies is introducing the latest version of its award-winning software for chairside CAD/CAM solution. DentaLogic 2.0 provides new methods for data capture and analysis, and the E4D Skyway opens up new opportunities for complete chairside solutions.

A highlight of version 2.0 includes a new scanning technology called Smart Scan Technology,™ which introduces new scan targeting feedback analysis, providing the operator with a continuous status of scanned images. By rejecting any instance of motion, insufficient overlap in scanned images, fogging and/or inappropriate focal length, Smart Scan only accepts ideal images to produce a smoother, sharper virtual model while eliminating thumbnail images and the need to count scans.

Also introduced in the software is an enhancement to the ICE (ICEverything™) mode called ICE Spotlight,™ displaying powder-free visualization of hard and soft tissue across the entire scanned field. Now, only individual ICE images are shown and continually update during margin identification and marking. In addition, E4D Scan ID™ identifies and isolates individual scans for deletion simply by moving the cursor over the virtual model.

DentaLogic 2.0 expands milling capabilities with the addition of three new materials: IPS e.max CAD Impulse (Ivolcar Vivadent), Lava™ Ultimate CAD/CAM Restorative (3M ESPE) and B.O.B. (Burn Out Block, D4D Technologies).

The IPS e.max CAD Impulse block provides lifelike brightness and opalescence and is ideal for veneers, partials and full-coverage restorations. Lava Ultimate is a strong, wear-resistant and highly esthetic nano resin ceramic block that provides a fast and easy-to-use alternative for CAD/CAM indirect restorations. B.O.B. acrylic blocks are ideal for lost-wax casting or pressing techniques for additional material and restoration utilization.

Perhaps the most exciting development, according to D4D Technologies, in version 2.0 is the opening of the E4D Sky™ Network, offering an efficient method to transfer files either to another E4D system or over the internet via DDX for design or fabrication services. DDX is a global web-enabled application that allows dental professionals, such as laboratories and dentists, to communicate more efficiently. This will allow E4D users to do more with their scans, such as send to D4D’s Support on Sight™ (SOS) remote support team for complete processing or “save as” an open file format (.STL) that provides additional production value, including printing models and fabricating bridges by a preferred laboratory.
