LEIPZIG, Germany: In recent years, dental cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has become popular, especially among implantologists. However, many other fields of dentistry can benefit from diagnosis with this technique too. In a webinar to be presented by the Dental Tribune Study Club on 28 January, an expert will explain how to use the additional information gained through 3-D radiographs for diagnosis and indication of treatment.
When indicated correctly, CBCT scans generate significantly more information than do 2-D radiographs. Participants of the webinar will learn in which cases CBCT should be used and what diagnostic conclusions can be drawn.
Experienced speaker and dentist Dr Heinz Theo Lübbers will address CBCT in relation to wisdom teeth, apicectomies, cysts and other bony pathologies, trauma and periapical lesions.
The one-hour webinar, titled “Indication for the 3rd dimension—CBCT’s range of applications beyond implantology”, is free of charge and will be broadcast live online on 28 January from 9 a.m. EST. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed.
