LEIPZIG, Germany: A botiss webinar sponsored by botiss biomaterials on March 24 will discuss the concept, material, operation procedure and clinical results of an innovative bone augmentation technique. Maxgraft bonebuilder provides a prefabricated allogenic bone graft individually designed for the patient's bone defect.

With maxgraft bonebuilder, harvesting of autologous bone and manual adjustment of the transplant are no longer required. Pain, donor-site morbidity and surgery time can be significantly reduced.

Based on CT/CBCT scans of the defect, a patient-matched bone implant is designed using 3-D planning software. The data is converted into a milling file, from which a patient-specific allogenic bone block is milled. The implant is inserted into the defect and fixed with osteosynthesis screws.

In the webinar, Dr Markus Schlee, who is an experienced global lecturer in the fields of periodontology, implantology, soft-tissue management, microsurgery, piezo-surgery and aesthetics, will explain how to perform block grafting, giving careful consideration to soft-tissue management. He will also provide information about the possibilities, limitations and troubleshooting of the new technique.

The webinar, titled "Customized Allogenic Bone Blocks — An Innovative Augmentation Technique," is free of charge and will be broadcast online on Monday, March 24, at 6 p.m. GMT. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed.

Registration for the webinar is now open.
