As a manufacturer of different operatory and laboratory resins and products for more than 70 years, and having a specialty in resins specific for All-on-X full arch cases, my company, TAUB Products, has seen an ever-changing tide of restorative materials for bonding and cementing and an ever-changing chemical make-up of the “quintessential” esthetic final restoration.
With today’s dentistry diving headfirst into more and more 3-D printed restorations for full arch and single units, 3-D printer companies are coming out with new and updated 3-D printer “ceramic” resins with up to and beyond 55 percent ceramic fill, all of them with a different chemistry.
The push to develop restorative cements capable of integrating with these new technologies while working with current existing technologies is imperative.
Some cements require primers and bonding agents to offer the best bonding to make up for the shortfalls of its original chemistry, enabling it to now bond to, let’s say zirconia, or allow a chemical adhesion to porcelain and tooth structure. Other cements are formulated with self-adhesive properties offering these chemical bonds to ceramic, zirconia and titanium.
We have developed a new line of cements that focuses on superior adhesion, specifically for the 3-D printing and milling revolution. TAUB introduces ENERGY CTZ Cements, chemically formulated to bond 3-D “ceramic” printing resins, 3-D milled zirconia, 3-D milled titanium and tooth structure.
Two versions of ENERGY are available, CTZ1 and CTZ3.
