PROVIDENCE, R.I., USA: Ideas and innovation seem to be top of mind here at the Northeastern Society of Orthodontist’s annual meeting. Orthodontists who look to the future and aim to stay informed on the latest and greatest innovations in the industry are sure to feel right at home as they peruse the exhibit hall or learn about something new during a lecture or presentation.

Many companies are showing off new products and technology.

3M Unitek is confident that its new products will allow orthodontists to be more productive and efficient than ever. One particularly innovative new product you will find at the 3M booth is the APC Flash-Free Adhesive Coated Appliance System. This system eliminates the flash removal step from bonding, which saves time for the doctor, staff and patients. It protects enamel under the adhesive during treatment, and it also makes debonding easier.

G&H Orthdontics, which formally rebranded earlier this year, is showing off its new and improved Thermal Copper Nickel Titanium premium archwire. Stop by the booth to find out more about G&H’s full line of clinical solutions.

Over at the topsOrtho Software booth, you can pick up a pithy pin while you hear about how topsOrtho Software can revolutionize the way you use practice-management software. topsOrtho will show you how you can quickly and easily determine the profit drivers (and crashers) in your practice.

So much to learn

Of course, there is a lot more going on here at NESO than just strolling the aisles of the exhibit hall, and to that end, there is a wide variety of lectures and presentations you might want to keep an eye on.

Dr. Lou Shuman and Amy Morgan present “Future Proof Your Orthodontic Practice,” which focuses on social media changes you’ll need to address in order to maintain a strong online presence. Topics include the newest and most effective search engine tools to maximize your online visibility, the latest treatment presentation and communication skills that inspire commitment from your patient and the best approach to creating a motivational strategy that maintains a spirit of enthusiasm amongst employees.

Another highlight is Dr. Marco Rosa’s “Early Treatment: The Key Points and a New Method.” This lecture covers a “new method of early treatment” that is said to make it possible to move permanent teeth, or to induce their correct eruption, without touching them.

There are also a number of sessions geared toward the whole staff, such as “Taking Back the Specialty — One Job Design at a Time!” This session, which discusses the role each team member plays in the success of the practice, is presented by Char Eash.

“Every Orthodontic Practice Needs a Paparazzi,” led by Rita Bauer, offers some tips for clinically correct photographs that can enhance treatment planning.

For a complete list of sessions, pick up an on-site program at the Rhode Island Convention Center or go online to www.neso.org.
