BIOMET 3i’s Low Profile Abutment is now available — a solution designed to provide clinicians with more space for screw-retained restorations in clinical areas of limited interarch distance. Screw-retained abutments provide clearer access to, and retrievability of, single- and multiple-unit implant restorations. In addition, certain patient situations may require the benefits of screw-retained restorations such as full mouth reconstruction and immediate loading techniques.

The new BIOMET 3i Low Profile Abutment is designed for screw-retained restorations in areas of limited interarch distance; and immediate or traditional loading procedures.

The Low Profile Abutment Offers one restorative platform for ease of use; and a contoured emergence profile, providing easier placement in subcrestal and flapless surgery.

“When you require more space, keep a low profile with one of the lowest restorative profiles on the market today, the BIOMET 3i Low Profile Abutment,” the company says.

Aiden Morris Symposium

In other news from BIOMET 3i, the fourth annual Aiden Morris Memorial Symposium – An Event To Remember, will be held Oct. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.

BIOMET 3i is teaming up with a well-known dentist in the Illinois area, Dr Gary Morris, to raise money to benefit the Aiden Morris Neuromuscular Research Fund, a fund that supports researchers and institutions dedicated to finding a cure for congenital myopathies.

Aiden Morris, the son of Dr Morris, was born March 19, 2003, and was diagnosed with congenital myopathy, a progressive weakening of skeletal muscles. Aiden passed away on Oct. 19, 2006. The Aiden Morris Neuromuscular Research Fund was founded in November 2003 to support researchers and their institutions dedicated to finding the cause and a cure for congenital myopathies.

The fourth annual Aiden Morris Memorial Symposium education event will bring together approximately 100 dentists from surrounding areas to learn about current technologies in dentistry.

BIOMET 3i funds this program, and the speakers donate their time. All of the program tuition will go to the Aiden Morris Neuromuscular Research Fund. Since inception of this fund in 2003, contributions from clinicians attending this program have totaled more than US$61,000.
