NEW ORLEANS, La., USA: Steve W. Kess, vice president of global professional relations at Henry Schein Inc., received the 2014 President’s Corporate Award from the National Dental Association during the NDA’s recent meeting in New Orleans. “It is truly an honor to receive the NDA President’s Corporate Award on behalf of Team Schein,” Kess said.

Kess was presented with the award, presented in recognition for his support of the dental profession and a longstanding partnership with the NDA, during the opening session of the NDA’s 101st Annual Convention in New Orleans. Founded in 1913, the NDA is the largest and oldest dental association for black dentists in the United States.

During the awards ceremony, NDA Acting President and President-Elect Carrie Brown, DMD, read a passage written by Allison Riddle-Fletcher, DDS, the NDA’s president who recently passed away: “We are grateful for all the lessons we have learned from Mr. Kess and the unwavering support we have received from Henry Schein for nearly two decades. Through Steve’s tireless efforts and guidance, the NDA has reached new heights in garnering support from corporate, foundation and key government leaders. We thank Steve and Henry Schein for helping us to cultivate and grow not only a model professional partnership, but also an enduring and endearing friendship.”

Kess is a founding partner of the NDA Corporate Roundtable, established in 1996 as an advisory committee to strengthen the organization’s growth and development through corporate giving, fundraising, administrative contributions and active participation in programs at the national and local levels.

“Henry Schein is proud to support the NDA’s continuous hard work to elevate the stature of the dental profession by increasing minority representation, enhancing oral care equity, and promoting academic excellence,” Kess said. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future.”
