When AMD introduced the Monet laser curing light in 2020, the dental world wasn’t sure what to make of it. Was it truly possible to completely cure composites in just one second? It simply seemed too good to be true, something closer to Star Trek than actual science.
Besides, Monet represented a colossal paradigm shift. Since their invention in 1999 by AMD CEO Densen Cao, LED curing lights had been the industry standard. It was taken as a given that things were as good as they were going to get.
But the shift is real, and Monet remains the only handheld laser curing light six years later. There is still the occasional sceptic, but the science continues to back up the Monet’s unique proposition: that collimated laser energy is significantly more efficient, consistent and effective than it is possible for LEDs to be.
But that doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement.
Introducing the Monet+, the next evolution in laser curing technology. It keeps everything that made the first Monet so exceptional while fine-tuning its performance to more exacting standards.
The key innovation of Monet+ is its redesigned beam profile. It trades the original Monet’s 10 mm circular footprint for an expanded 12 mm hexagonal one. This not only enlarges the effective curing area, it ensures more consistent energy distribution throughout the curing area. Monet+ reduces the need for overlapping cures on extensive restorations and the possibility of hotspots within the beam.
Use Monet+ to:
- Cure RBCs, adhesives and more in as little as one second — up to 10 times faster than leading LED curing lights.
- Reduce orthodontic bracket and clear aligner application time by several minutes per case.
- Improve patient comfort, especially for children and patients with special needs.
In orthodontics, curing is a constant. If you’re ready to get back time in your day and run a truly modern practice, you’re ready for Monet+ and the one-second curing revolution.
