Full speed ahead for dentistry at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting

The Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting is going full speed as the second half gets underway with a jam-packed schedule full of opportunities to laugh and learn. Inside McCormick Place West, thousands of dental professionals are seeing firsthand new techniques to take back to their practices, checking out new devices to help their patients and mingling with old and new friends.

More than 400 exhibitors are showcasing everything from loupes to dental drills to dental probes throughout the exhibit hall. This is your chance to get a hands-on approach to some of products and services hitting the dental market. And representatives will be on site to help you in selecting what suits your office’s needs.

The exhibit hall for this year’s event will be open Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday afternoon, be sure to check out Sips, Suds, and Sales, a new take on last year’s Brews and Bargains. Enjoy a glass of wine or beer and do some shopping with your favorite vendors. The event takes place from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. and is open to all attendees.

New to the profession? Check out the dental student reception taking place Friday evening from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Share dental school stories, network and enjoy free food while getting to know future dentists. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn about mentorships as well as getting help to build your professional community, even before you graduate.

Want to let loose after a long day at the convention center? Join your friends and colleagues for Friday Night Bash. Taking place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hyatt McCormic Regency Ballroom, swing to the music as a live DJ plays the latest hits. You can also enjoy unlimited drinks and a selection of appetizers

No dental office runs successfully without the help of hygienists. So this year a special luncheon is being held in their honor. Taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, take a midday break and mingle with other hygienists. You can recharge, network or learn different techniques all while enjoying good food.

After three days of learning and fun, the time will have come to ditch your scrubs and put on your evening gowns and tuxedos. The President’s Dinner Dance will take place Saturday from 7 to 11:30 p.m. There, you can enjoy an elegant dinner, listen to live music and dance the night away as you cap off another milestone meeting in Chicago.
