LEIPZIG, Germany: Next week, a cosmetic surgeon will be holding a live webinar on a treatment alternative for the molar socket, including immediate implant placement, via the Dental Tribune Study Club platform. Registration for the free lecture, which will explain how ultrawide-diameter implants can simplify treatment without compromising function and esthetics, is now open.
Multirooted extraction sockets are often too large to accommodate a conventional size implant. However, ultrawide-diameter implants can be used as an alternative. During the lecture, Dr. Michael Will will show that immediate molar replacement implants can reduce the need for ancillary procedures, such as sinus lifts or extensive grafting. These implants also frequently reduce the risk of injury to surrounding structures, such as the inferior alveolar nerve. In addition, they allow for improved molar emergence profiles in order to reduce the size of gingival embrasures and therefore reduce the potential for food impaction.
On completion of the webinar, participants will have gained knowledge about how ultrawide-diameter implants can simplify treatment and shorten treatment duration.
The lecture, titled "Indication Specific Implants: Immediate Molar Replacement with Ultra Wide Diameter Implants," is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at 5 p.m. EST.
In order to earn a continuing education credit, participants may complete a questionnaire on the topic after the lecture.
People interested in attending the lecture can register now on the DT Study Club website.
