CHARLOTTE, N.C., USA: Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation recently awarded a two-year, $300,000 grant to America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation to support oral health services and education for at-risk children through the NCOHF Minnesota Oral Health Zone Program. The Minnesota NCOHF Oral Health Zone program is one of five operated by America’s ToothFairy across the U.S.

It was established in 2014 with funding from the Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation and guidance from the Minnesota Oral Health Zone Advisory Group. Combining America’s ToothFairy resources and programs with local knowledge, expertise and people power, the Minnesota Oral Health Zone program aims to break the cycle of severe tooth decay, expand access to care and education for vulnerable children, and enhance awareness of oral disease as a significant children’s health issue.

“We are proud to partner with America’s ToothFairy and the Minnesota Oral Health Zone Program to expand delivery of critical oral health services to at-risk children and families in Minnesota,” said Susan Hammel, executive director of Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation. “Collaborative initiatives like the Minnesota Oral Health Zone Program are helping to maximize oral health resources, reduce disease and improve the health and well-being of at-risk children across the state.”

“We are very grateful to Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation for their continued, strong commitment to improving the oral health of at-risk children and families in Minnesota,” said Fern Ingber, America’s ToothFairy president and CEO. “This generous donation will help thousands of vulnerable children in Minnesota access the oral health services and education they need to maintain healthy, beautiful smiles.”
