Bone regeneration requires several factors to take place: osteoinduction, osteoconduction and osteogenesis. Autografts and advanced biologics may offer all but either require a second surgical site or may have risks and side effects to the patient. An advanced bone allograft that is naturally osteoconductive and processed in a way to maximize the availability of growth factors known to support the complex bone healing cascade would fill a gap in care that exists today.
ACE SOUTHERN introduces the 2024 AO Innovation Award Winner, INDUCE Oi-9 Bioimplants, which offers a natural approach to bone regeneration. This allograft uses the NMP (Natural Matrix Protein) Process, unlocking growth factors from the extracellular matrix to make them more bioavailable to aid in the natural bone healing process. Growth factors include BMP-2, BMP-7, VEGF, TGF-ϐ1 and PDGF.
INDUCE Oi-9 bioimplants are available sterile in two formats, FiberMatrix and Micro Particulate, and in two sizes, 0.5 cc and 1.0 cc. FiberMatrix is made from cortical fibers and cortical micro particulates, which undergo the NMP process. Similarly, Micro Particulates, made from cortical particulate only, are processed with the NMP Process to provide bioavailable growth factors.
Once hydrated, both are moldable and become an easy-to-handle putty. INDUCE Oi-9 is conveniently stored at ambient temperature with a five-year shelf life.
INDUCE Oi-9 is recommended for filling bony voids, including regeneration around failing teeth and implants, ridge augmentation, furcation defects, periodontal defects and sinus lifts. Dr. Thomas Uveges, vice president of biologics at ACE Surgical says, “INDUCE Oi-9 has shown to produce the right amount of bone at the right maturity to sustain dentition and dental implants.”
