CHICAGO, Ill., USA: The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) dedicated its new office space in downtown Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, and more than 100 AGD leaders and staff were on hand for the special reception and ribbon cutting. “Welcome to the new AGD Headquarters,” said AGD President Linda J. Edgar, DDS, MEd, MAGD.
“Purchasing and moving to this building was a massive undertaking, and it would not have been possible without the hard work of many of the people who are here tonight, staff and members alike, and I thank you for your efforts,” Edgar said during the ceremony, which was held in late October.
The AGD moved to 560 W. Lake St. in September, and the organization’s 70-plus employees now occupy 30,000 square feet on the seven-story building’s top two floors. The new AGD Headquarters is twice the size of the organization’s former office space, located in the American Dental Association building at 211 E. Chicago Ave.
“I’m thrilled to dedicate the new AGD Headquarters,” said Edgar. “May we enjoy many years of achievement and growth in our new home.”
The AGD is a professional association of 38,000 general dentists dedicated to providing quality dental care and oral health education to the public. AGD members stay up-to-date in their profession through a commitment to continuing education.
Founded in 1952, the AGD is the second largest dental association in the United States, and it is the only association that exclusively represents the needs and interests of general dentists.
