HONOLULU, US: On 7 and 8 July, the Institute of Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry will be hosting its annual International Symposium on Dental Ceramics at the Hilton hotel in Honolulu. The event will highlight the growing utilisation of lithium disilicate for chairside and dental laboratory manufacturing environments.

This year’s symposium will focus on how to achieve excellent aesthetic and individualised restorations using a digital workflow. Attendees will learn everything about image acquisition, proper case selection, digital case design, milling strategies, proper use of lithium disilicate materials and long-term patient management. The presentations will be given by globally prominent speakers Drs Ed McLaren, Yao-Lin Tang and Armen Mirzayan.
The symposium will include a comprehensive hands-on workshop that will cover the requisite armamentarium for and step-by-step process of creating the ideal restoration surface: form, texture, colour and polish. Participants will work on models and milled restorations to master these crucial techniques.
