CHARLOTTE, N.C., U.S.: Dentsply Sirona welcomed a group of female dentists and CEREC owners to the first EPIC Women’s Dental Meeting, held in Charlotte on July 27 and 28, at the new Dentsply Sirona Academy. EPIC (Educate, Practice, Innovate and Connect) combined clinical breakout sessions, organizational and product insights, and a keynote address by a best-selling female author and entrepreneur. The event aims included the fostering of camaraderie among like-minded professionals in an encouraging environment.
“The intent behind EPIC was to not only bring together female practitioners from all over the country for two days of education and networking, but to help foster a community that will develop into a national and global phenomenon,” said Linda Gehringer, Vice President of Sales, CAD/CAM and Imaging.
EPIC was kicked off by Maureen MacInnis, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer and Communications at Dentsply Sirona, whose address illuminated attendees on the company’s position on equality and the importance of recognizing the current industry climate and growth. Best-selling author, psychologist, and podcast and TV host Christine Hassler spoke about maintaining one’s self-care tanks and managing expectations. The EPIC program also offered a glimpse of CEREC’s future, with the introduction of new features available in Version 4.6, which will be available later this year. The successful first edition of the event concluded with two educational sessions on the prominence of office design in patient acquisition, experience and retention, and a personal account on challenging cases.
Dentsply Sirona said it is committed to the continued development of EPIC and intends to host another event in 2019. Dental professionals interested in participating can find more information here.
