LOS ANGELES, CA and NEW YORK, NY, USA: Jennie Garth, who is known to millions of television viewers from her appearances on the popular programs 90210 and Dancing with the Stars, will join Trident, Smiles Across America and the kids of the Children’s Dental Center of Greater Los Angeles (TCDC), to bring attention to the importance of oral health care for children living in LA and nationwide.
Trident, the popular sugar-free gum, will welcome TCDC to the Smiles Across America network—a partnership made possible by the Trident brand’s US$1.5 million, three-year commitment to Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America program.
Smiles Across America is a signature program of Oral Health America, an independent organization dedicated to eliminating oral disease through access, education, and advocacy. By supporting school oral health services and demonstrating to communities that oral health is integral to overall health, Smiles Across America aims to improve the oral health of uninsured and underinsured elementary school students who lack routine dental care.
Jennie Garth, who is a mother of three, is making her own commitment to the cause by teaming up with Trident to help raise awareness for oral disease prevention. On 27 August, she will lead proper oral hygiene workshops for 20 local children, who will now benefit from Smiles Across America thanks to Trident’s commitment. The event will take place at TCDC’s Toothfairy Cottage, the former childhood home of TCDC’s founder, which now serves as an education center for patients and the community.
Trident is also announcing its first Donation Week promotions to benefit Smiles Across America. Kicking off 1 September and running through 7 September, Trident will donate to Smiles Across America 5 cents for every package of Trident gum purchased as part of a three-year commitment to help Oral Health America shed a light on the importance of pediatric oral health in the United States.
