CHICAGO, US: The Chicago Dental Society (CDS) has recently announced its speaker line-up for the upcoming 160th Midwinter Meeting, taking place at the McCormick Place West Building in Chicago on 20–22 February 2025. The event’s scientific programme features 159 speakers offering more than 240 courses, including 46 hands-on workshops and 34 free courses.
New to the scientific programme for 2025 is a collaboration with the Pankey Institute, a renowned and respected dental education and professional development institution in the US, which will provide a three-day course for attendees. Designed for both early career and experienced dentists, the course curriculum will be centred on aesthetics, occlusion, restorative techniques, biological considerations and patient-centred care.
“As the respected leader in dental continuing education, the CDS team carefully crafts a scientific programme unlike any other in the industry, from practice management and new patient care techniques to up-and-coming topics like artificial intelligence,” CDS President-elect Dr Denise Hale said in a press release. “The result is that attendees have unmatched access to the best minds and top names in the industry all in one convenient location, and you can build an education programme that serves your needs,” she continued.
Every year, the Midwinter Meeting attracts tens of thousands of attendees from around the globe. The annual event delivers hundreds of premium continuing education opportunities for dental professionals of all backgrounds, as well as for office staff. The 160th Midwinter Meeting will once again be a one-stop shop for best-in-class continuing education opportunities on a wide variety of topics, including social media, new surgical techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, paediatric dentistry, endodontics, implantology, cybersecurity, dental auxiliary staff training, laser use, restorative dentistry and sleep medicine.
“One core focus of CDS is to provide world-class continuing education opportunities for our members and Midwinter Meeting attendees,” said Dr Cheryl Mora, the director of scientific programmes at CDS. “Our CDS team dedicates significant time to scouting for and researching speakers to ensure the best minds are featured at the Midwinter Meeting. A key part of this process is also identifying the next generation of speakers, and we’re very excited to welcome more than 70 new, up-and-coming speakers who will be joining us this February for the 160th Midwinter Meeting,” she added.
Returning to the Midwinter Meeting next year is the Windy City Emerging Speaker Program, offering promising speakers from across the US and Canada the opportunity to present their work. This year, 16 such speakers will debut at the event.
