The thrills continue in Central Florida as the American Association of Orthodontists’ annual meeting continues at the Orange County Convention Center. All Saturday and Sunday, you can see live demonstrations of the latest orthodontic devices, get first-hand knowledge from company representative and rub elbows with more than 15,000 other dental professionals.
Most people don’t think of puppies and orthodontics mixing, but that’s not the case at this year’s event. One of the many highlights in the AAO Exhibit Hall is the Puppy Park. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days, you can pet and play with these four-legged friends, snap a few photos and enjoy pure bliss. There will also be a Local Marketplace featuring artists from around Central Florida.
And when you are at your peak of puppy overload, stroll the aisles of the exhibit hall and see the latest tools being used by orthodontists. On display will be ground-breaking products that are accompanied by representatives who can answer your questions and give you live demonstrations.
Check out the Innovation Pavilion, located at the center of the exhibit hall, and learn about the latest and most exciting solutions to help your practice. You’ll also have a chance to judge what is the best new product on the show floor at the New Products Showcase. The exhibit hall is open until 5 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
For those looking to earn C.E. credit, the annual meeting has you covered. You can earn up to 14.25 credits at this year’s event. And there is a wide array of topics for you to choose from.
For those looking to break into the field of orthodontics, there will be a career fair Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. It is open to doctors, residents and orthodontic staff and is complementary with registration.
On Saturday afternoon, the AAO will be “Tearing Up My Heart” as special guests Joey Fatone and Lance Bass of NSYNC give a keynote presentation. The two musicians rose to fame in the late ’90s with their popular boy band. The two will be speaking about dreams and purpose and inspiring the audience through their powerful storytelling. Join Fatone and Bass from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Chapin Theatre in the convention center.
On Sunday, the “Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century” will be sharing tips for you through inclusion and engagement. Jackie Joyner-Kersee will give insights into building resilience and overcoming adversity. She’ll share practical tools for maintaining a positive outlook, adapting to change and transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. The six-time Olympic medalist will inspire you and your practice during a conversation and Q&A from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
