LED curing lights have been the industry standard for decades, and for good reason. They are more convenient and effective than the halogen lights that preceded them, contributing to practice efficiency and productivity gains.

But for all their advances, LEDs have significant limitations in their light output and energy delivery, which leads to weak cures in many situations. The Monet+ laser curing light uses advanced laser technology to correct these fatal flaws and provide faster, more durable cures.

Light output

You’ve heard that the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. In light curing, something similar is true: the light that shines brighter cures faster. All light-curing composites and adhesives contain photoinitiators that respond to light energy (irradiance), and the more energy they receive the faster the curing process. This is why LED lights cure faster than halogen bulbs and why lasers are fastest of all.

Lasers produce significantly higher amounts of irradiance compared to other sources. Monet+ harnesses this energy to safely and efficiently produce greater light output than is possible for any LED. So, a bracket attachment that even the most powerful LED light can cure in 10 seconds, Monet+ can do in just one.

Energy delivery

The other (arguably greater) problem faced by LED lights is irradiance loss — light energy that disperses before it even reaches its curing target. LED lights can lose up to half their irradiance over just 5 mm of distance, meaning their curing power is also reduced. This might not be an issue for material your curing light can directly contact, but brackets and other orthodontic appliances put real distance between you and your target, leading to weak or incomplete cures.

Because of its collimated laser beam, Monet+ experiences virtually no irradiance loss over distance, meaning it is just as powerful at 5 or 10 mm as it is on contact. Reattaching brackets due to poorly cured adhesive cuts into your production and causes patients avoidable stress and discomfort. Monet+ gives you the confidence you need in every cure while saving you real time in the chair.

The Monet+ laser curing light solves two of the largest concerns clinicians have with LED curing lights to provide consistent, lightning-fast cures across the practice. Are you ready to experience the difference yourself.
