MELVILLE, N.Y., USA: Henry Schein Inc. recently hosted its 10th annual Special Markets National Sales Meeting at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Jacksonville, Fla. The meeting brought together more than 200 Team Schein Members and 100 representatives from 60 supplier partners to celebrate this year’s theme, “Sales Wars: The Power of the Past, the Force of the Future.”

The National Sales Meeting featured dozens of breakout sessions, facilitating discussions about best practices and providing opportunities to meet with supplier partner representatives. The meeting was also an opportunity to look back at the success achieved by the Special Markets team, which has grown from a $100 million business in 2004 to $500 million today.

“Henry Schein is a company committed to new ideas, and the Special Markets team has been the key to Henry Schein’s reinvention,” said Hal Muller, president, Special Markets Division, Henry Schein Inc. “Through niche markets, we drive reinvention and with dental service organizations (DSOs) being the fastest growing channel in dentistry today, we are in the right place at the right time.”

During the meeting, Muller led a Q&A session with Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and CEO, Henry Schein Inc., to discuss trends driving changes in health care, as well as the company’s “secret sauce” that has helped sustain the its unique culture for more than 84 years.

“We are moving into a far more connected world than ever before and everything we do for customers will be tied to interoperability,” said Bergman. “As trusted advisors, we remain committed to serving as change agents for customers looking to embrace digital solutions that benefit the practice, dental team and patients. As for Team Schein, it is important for us to stay connected as well by emphasizing our Company's commitment to giving back to society, which is the secret sauce of our growth.”

Since 1995, Henry Schein Special Markets has been serving DSOs, dental schools, federal government agencies, institutional organizations and community health centers.
