ST. LOUIS, Mo., USA: A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) announced that Prashanth K. Haribabu, DDS, BDS, MDS, MSD, director of oral and maxillofacial surgery and assistant professor, located at the St. Louis Dental Center, was the keynote speaker at the recent 5th Global American Academy of Implant Dentistry Conference in New Delhi.

“I felt quite honored to be invited as a keynote speaker among the stalwarts of implant dentistry,” Haribabu said. “My presentation focused on evolving medical conditions leading to dental implant failures and was attended by nearly 500 delegates. Our protocols for oral implantology are part of global standards of practice.”

While at the conference, Haribabu was also awarded the Master Implant Fellow Certification by the World Congress of Oral Implantology (WCOI).

Haribabu was one of the few candidates to take the World Congress of Oral Implantology Master Fellowship implant examination. This required a presentation of at least three surgical implant cases to the board of examiners and defense of his surgical work. He was honored to receive the Master Fellowship Certificate by the WCOI.

“For doctors, learning is a constant process and it’s our career lifestyle. Certifications like these help confirm that we provide the highest quality of care to our patients. This also helps us to teach and train the next generation of doctors and dentists to provide high levels of healthcare.”

The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) conference occurs annually in the U.S, and every few years in a venue outside the U.S.

This year’s conference was held in Haribabu’s home country of India. Nearly 1,000 dentists, surgeons, dental students and residents attended the global summit, as well as implant dentists from 14 different countries, including the U.S., U.K., France, Japan and Israel. The conference also displays the latest in implant technology and equipment globally.
